HWSFD Participates in Doreen O’Sullivan Memorial Softball Tournament

This morning, members of the Harwinton West Side Volunteer Fire Department had the opportunity to participate in the Doreen O’Sullivan Memorial Softball Tournament.

We quickly learned that we may be much better at extinguishing fires than playing softball, but we had a great time supporting the event, spending time together, and being out in the community.

Community events like this are an important part of who we are as a department. While emergency response is a major part of our mission, we also value the opportunity to connect with residents, support loc

al causes, and take part in events that bring people together.

Even during a busy week of structure fires, outside fires, motor vehicle accidents, and medical calls, our members were proud to make time to support this meaningful community event.

Thank you to everyone involved in organizing the tournament and to everyone who came out to participate, watch, and support the cause. HWSFD was proud to be part of it.
